M.R.E. uses the best quality pistons in all of our engines, whether it be a street engine or an all out race engine. It doesn't matter if it is normally aspirated , blown, or using nitrous, we don't take any chances. Pistons are a very important piece of the puzzle, and a bad choice in pistons can mean a world of trouble to the entire shortblock and cylinder heads. Although there are plenty of off the shelf pistons that we use in some moderate to slight high performance use, we mainly design our own pistons for the serious racer. There are alot of factors when designing a piston, which can affect how the engine makes power. Each application is different, and each piston design requires specific options depending on each combination. We do not just rely on a piston manufacturer to send us what they think we need, however we work one on one with them to make sure the piston is made to our design and standards. By doing this, we feel the customer is getting piece of mind knowing we have put a tremendous amount of attention to detail in each combination, while meeting or exceeding their horsepower goals without sacrificing the reliability of their engine.Below are a few manufacturers we deal with that have been able to meet our standards and make each of our designs happen.

MRE designed custom piston: starting @ $700 (w/std. pins)
