This 1978 M,alibu belongs to Eric. It is powered by a small
block 357 Chevrolet with Dart Pro 1 heads, Eagle rotating assembly, 13.5
compression, a mild solid flat tappet camshaft (well under .600"
lift!!), and a Rons Flying Toilet Alcohol injection unit. The car uses
stock suspension with aftermarket bolt- ons in the rear, and 3 way adjustable
shocks with stock springs in the front, a Moser 9" rear housing with
5.14 gears, 28"x9" tires, a power glide and a 5,700 rpm converter
and weighs 3,050 lbs. Best e/t to date was 10.88 with a bad 1.55 short
time. Eric recently contacted M.R.E. for some suspension advice to help
his car get closer to his goal e/t of single digits. Future plans include
a trans brake, and a severe diet.
****Update: With the help of MRE, Eric has dropped
from a 1.55 to a 1.48 short time and went from 10.90's @ 119 to 10.50's
@ 125!!!***

81' Cutlass

This 81 Cutlass street car belongs to Glenn (No last name given). It sports
a turbo 350 transmission, 3,500 stall converter, 4.10 gears, 28" x 10.5"
drag radial, 3" exhaust, and weighs roughly 3,500 lbs. Glenn has recently
contacted M.R.E. for one of our custom 406 pump gas small block Chevrolet's
using M.R.E.'s new aluminum heads.Although Glenn plans on driving this car
mainly on the street, he does plan to run a bit of nitrous behind it as
well on the track.Glenn looks to M.R.E. to help out in 2006 to help him
achieve his goals for the upcoming race season |
72' El Camino

This 1972 El Camino belongs to John "Elky Man" Gould. At the time of the
photo, John was running a 13.1 std. bore 454, oval port iron heads fully
ported, 950 HP carburetor, solid roller camshaft, with a forged lower half.
It is backed up by a Powerglide transmission with a transbrake, 5,000 stall
converter, 4.56 gears and 29x 11.5 Hoosier tires. Times at Memphis Motorsports
Park were 11.00's @122 off the trailer with 1.55 short times. John has recently
contacted M.R.E. for some future upgrades which include a 505 inch tall
deck big block, as well as some suspension advice to get his 'Camino in
the single digits for 2006'... |
78' Trans Am

This 78 Trans Am belongs to Lou Failla. It is a numbers matching W72 T/A,
gold on gold, with color coded rims. Engine is a numbers matching factory
400 Pontiac with a cam,headers,intake and Holley carburetor. It has a 4-speed,
10-bolt posi, with 3.42 gears, and like his brother's Camaro, is shown and
driven. The car has full power accessories, and has air conditioning! Although
the engine has a little work done, Lou has all the original parts in case
he ever decides to make it all stock again. Future upgrades include a Flowmaster
exhaust, and possibly a set of 3.55 gears for a little more get up and go.

72' Camaro

This 1972 Camaro belongs to Rob Failla. It is a numbers matching 396 big
block car, with a 4-speed Muncie transmission, and a 10 bolt posi rear with
3.42 gears. This car is a show car as well as a driver. This is no trailer
queen. Rob bought the car a few years ago, and has done some minor changes
like an after market exhaust, and alot of attention to detail. |
79' Malibu

This 1979 Malibu belongs to Todd Geisler and is powered by a "small" big
block Chevrolet. A destroked 427 that now makes 414 cubes, with oval port
heads, small roller cam, an 850 carburetor, and 10.5 compression, and runs
on 93 octane pump gas. It uses a th400 with a 5,000 stall, and 4.10 gears.
The car runs BF Goodrich Comp TA drag radial DOT's size 325/50-15. Weighing
in at 3,600 lbs, with stock suspension and a Wolfecraft anti-sway bar, the
car has run a best of 10.48 @127 with a 1.433 60ft in a 10.0 index heads
up class! No Nitrous! Not bad for a pump gas drag radial car....Todd has
recently contacted Maximum Race Engines for more power to get him closer
to that 10.0 index. Stay tuned... |
71' Firebird

This 1971 Firebird belongs to Frank Gastyla of ALLPONTIAC.COM. It sports
a new pump gas 505ci Pontiac engine using the new IA2 engine block.It sports
a 12bolt rear with 3.73 gears,Strange axles and spool, a full manual th400
transmission, 3600 stall Continental converter, and 31"x 18.5" Hoosier Quick
Time street tires. The car weighs 3470 w/driver, and runs 10.80's through
the exhaust and on street tires. Frank says with a 4.30 gear, a bit more
stall speed and a slick, the car will run 10.50's or faster! Not bad for
a pump gas cruiser... |
87' Camaro IROC

This 87' IROC belongs to Chris from Long Island, NY. It is powered by
a pump gas 23 degree aluminum headed smallblock that get's a little help
from an NOS plate system. Behind the motor is a turbo 400 tranny that spins
a set of 3.73 gears in the rear. To help keep the car from flexing a 6 point
cage was installed but this full weight Camaro still has street credability
with working heat, power steering, radio, and stock interior. |
93' Mustang Notch

This 93' notch belongs to Wayne from Long Island, NY. Lurking under the
hood is a mild 302 with a Vortech S-Trim. This full weight notch still has
all power accessories, full exhaust, 6 point cage, and is usually prowling
the streets with drag radials mounted up on his 17 inch ROH Snyper rims,
but if you seem him with slicks on you know he means business. Equipped
with an AOD this notch is a true street car and long drives are always an
option. |
86' Monte Carlo SS

This clean 86' Monte Carlo SS belongs to Big John aka Batman from Long
Island, NY. Powering this 3500lbs Monte is a pump gas 406 Small Block Chevy
that's bolted up to a 200R4 tranny, making it very streetable while still
being able to run mid 11's on motor and mid 10's on a small shot of N20
. To help get all that power to the ground this car uses a Fab 9" with a
set of Hoosier 28 x 10 slicks. This car is all steel with a full interior
and 8 point cage. |
